Sliding Gate Automation

The choice is largely down to space available, ground elevation and weight of the gate that the opener will be operating. Whereas swing gates require a clear space for their opening arc, the sliding gates require space to one or both sides of the gate. Sliding gates are perhaps the best choice when drive space is limited as they use the least space when opening.

Rolling Track Sliding Gate Opener

Tracked sliding gates are a straightforward and economical way of installing gates. These work with a track fitted across the driveway for the gates to operate. Some benefits are as follows:

Rolling Track Sliding Gate Opener
  • This is an economical way of installing sliding gates.
  • This installation requires less of a return length compared to the cantilever system.

Requirements:

  • Debris will need to be cleared when necessary for the gates to operate correctly.
  • Driveways must be level for the track to be installed.
  • At least 600mm/2ft more of the opening must be available on the return side of the gateway- this will be explained in your quotation.

Cantilever Sliding Gate Opener

Cantilever sliding gates prove to be a more popular option when fitting gates. Some benefits are as follows:

Cantilever Sliding Gate Opener
  • These can be fitted to both level and un-level driveways.
  • Tracks are not required - this tends to be a popular option as it keeps the gates looking simplistic and modern.
  • With the gate being in suspension this will reduce the hassle of debris preventing the gate from operating as it has no contact with the ground.
  • The gates are quieter as they are not run on a track.
  • Cantilever gates are very strong compared to traditional swing style gate installation so this should be your choice if security is paramount to your choice.

Requirements:

  • There must be a minimum return of the entrance way width + 33% for these gates to be installed - this will be explained in your quotation.

Partial Gate Opening For Pedestrians

Partial opening of the gate for pedestrians is a standard feature of sliding gate opener systems. Once passage is completed, the gate will automatically close again. A feature that can also fitted to our gates is and electronic ANTI-CRUSHING systems that automatically inverts or halts movement when even the smallest obstacle is present.
